About us
History
Peter and Daisy Ganz, a Swiss and Filipino couple, started building Driftwood village in December 2001. Started with a table built from driftwood and a bamboo hut, constantly grew to a cute little village consisting now of nineteen native bamboo style huts, a cozy restaurant, a bar and a relaxing beach area. All built on sand and nestled in a beautiful garden with native plants and palm trees - right at the center of Sugar Beach.
Our Resort
Our resort is located in Sugarbeach, Sitio Langub, Barangay Nauhang, Sipalay City.
Except for the modern bathrooms with hot and cold shower, all of our buildings are made of wood and bamboo with Nipa palm leaf roofing. Our rooms use mosquito nets and fans instead of air conditioning. For those who like it really cool at night, there is limited A/C options available.
Our concept
Our resort is distinguished on Sugar Beach by the size and density of our trees and greenery. This keeps the ground temperature down naturally and helps slow water evaporation and wind erosion. We regularly replant trees and shrubs along our beachfront and over our whole lot. As for the activities that our resort offers such as kayaking, snorkeling and island hopping, we make sure that the areas we bring our guests to are safe for both the environment and the guests as well. Our boatmen and employees are all residents of this island, most of them native to Sugar Beach, so our resort gives them employment and opportunities.
Our team
Nine smiling faces take care of our guests and make your stay as comfortable as possible. The team takes care of the bungalows, the kitchen and makes sure the garden area and the beach always look nice and clean. We are already looking to your stay!
